South Sound Summer Jam: Car Show and Drift Competition





One of the fastest  growing car shows of summers past takes another step forward in becoming bigger and better! Previously known as the Nissan & Mitsubishi meet, taking place at Bruce Titus Olympia Nissan, the new event will be the talk of the car scene. 

This Friday, August 18, 2013, come to South Sound Speedway for the first annual South Sound Summer Jam. The event is sponsored by Bruce Titus Automotive Group and will surely be a hit as we have had to expand our space from our Olympia Nissan dealership to renting out an entire raceway. Cars and trucks of ALL makes and models are encouraged to come join the action!
There will be two different drift competitions and a car show open to all makes with best in class trophies. A team tandem drift competition with a $1000 Grand Prize and a demo style solo drift competition will be on the list of events for the day.

The event will be fun for the whole family! There will be a KIDS Zone complete with a bounce house, giant trikes, and more! Not to mention there is a kid’s choice award for the car show.  General Admission is $8 and free for kids 12 years of age and under.
A major portion of the event proceeds will be donated directly to the National Down Syndrome Society, with 100% of the raffle funds being donated to South Puget Sound Up with Down Syndrome.

Operation Shore Patrol 2017

pnw4wda.org pnw4wda.org On the third weekend every September the small coastal town of Grayland is invaded by Jeep clubs.  Actually they are invaded by Jeep clubs and bargain hunters, as this weekend is also their 30 miles of Junk sale weekend, but that is not what this is about.  Why you may ask.  Operation Shore Patrol ! Operation Shore Patrol was founded in 1971 by the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association ( PNW4WDA ) and supported by Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, Dept. of Ecology and The Ocean Conservancy, Operation Shore Patrol is an annual clean up of Washington State Coastline beaches.  Through continued support of local regional and national organization this initiative has been able to continually rid our beaches of litter and debris that accumulates from public use, illegal dumping and from the Pacific Ocean. Operation Puppy Drop

Operation Puppy Drop finds a home at Tacoma Subaru. This sweet pup has been learning his manners Tacoma Subaru received an email from a local Guide Dog training club asking if it would be possible to use our facility as puppy drop point.  We of course said yes!, you had us at puppies.  What do you need. The Guide Dogs for the Blind organization (we will explain more about what they do in a moment), brings a van full of puppies up to Washington almost every month and they stop in Tacoma, as a good central point.  Up until now, they usually meet in a random parking lot like Walmart or the Tacoma mall.  This can be a little stressful and chaotic, and they were looking for a better alternative, and thought about Tacoma Subaru since Subaru is well known for their love of animals.  No problem, we are happy to help.  So since October (2017) we have been offering up our facility for them to make their puppy drop, we affectionately call it Operation Puppy Drop.  Since October we h
