Buy Your Perfect Car, Support the Perfect Cause

Buy Your Perfect Car, Support the Perfect Cause

In the spring of 2013 we had an idea.  It started with a request from Crista Camps regarding their special camp for children of deployed military personnel.  With advertising budgets already set, and not a lot of wiggle room, we decided that we would donate $25 from every vehicle we sold in the month of April 2013.  The more vehicles we sell, the more we can donate.

It was such a huge success that we dreamed up "Buy Your Perfect Car, Support the Perfect Cause", and launched our first campaign for the months of May and June.  But which charity?  Since it was our first time out of the gate, and we all ready had a history with the Humane Society we decided that we would make the local Human Society to each store our "Perfect Cause".

It was a wonderful success!

Our Olympia Location promoted the Thurston County Humane Society and at the end of the campaign Bruce Titus handed them a check for $7,725.

Tacoma Subaru promoted the Tacoma-Pierce County Humane Society and Bruce handed them a check for $3700.

Port Orchard Ford promoted the Kitsap Humane Society, and Bruce handed them a check for $3200.

So, we put the word out to our employees.  We wanted to hear from them, and pick a charity that was local, and close to their hearts.

We had 3 great "Perfect Causes", so we decided to do it again.  So, for the months of August and September we, again, donated $25 to charities close to home and heart.  All 3 charities chosen were referred by employees.

The campaign has wrapped and the numbers are in and on Wednesday, October 16, representatives from each of the charities were invited to our corporate office in Tacoma so that Bruce could meet them personally, and on behalf of the individual stores, hand them their checks.

Each organization was thrilled with the donation and we were honored to be able to give back locally and to the communities where we not just work, but live.

Olympia Perfect Cause:
Olympia's perfect cause was referred to us by Russell who works in our Internet Parts Department.  With the birth of his son he has become an educated advocate of Down Syndrome.  While reaching out to the community for support and information he found the S. Sound Up with Downs chapter that help local families and the community regarding education, resources and most importantly inclusion.

Unfortunately the representative scheduled to be at the corporate office on behalf of the SSUWD was unable to attend the check distribution.  Her daughter decided to have her baby in the middle of the night (best excuse ever!).  The check in the amount of $6,475 has been forwarded to their organization with congratulations.

Tacoma Perfect Cause:

Tacoma's perfect cause was referred to us by Mary.  Mary, a long standing member of the community has chosen this cause as a place to devote her personal and free time, of which she does not have much.  The South Sound CARE Foundation is a local organizations that helps cancer patients get access to procedures or clinical studies that may be outside of their area or ability to finance the travel.  If there is a study in Atlanta, they will help get that patient there or the protocol here.  With the members of this board on their side, the patient is in excellent hands.  This is one determined group of people.  Tacoma Subaru's check for their foundation was a total of $3,850.  That's a good shot in the arm!

Port Orchard Ford:
Port Orchard Ford's  cause was referred to us by Rose.  Rose's son is entering his High School years and at a parent's meeting they were discussing the issues with the Football field, once the rains start the field is practically useless.  This is particularly sad, because S. Kitsap has one of the best Football/ athletic programs in the state, and certainly one committed coach in Eric Canton.  Rose mentioned that we had a Perfect Cause campaign and perhaps they would be a good candidate.  Yes they were!  They have a long way to go, but with the support of their community they will get what they need.  Bruce was delighted to hand them a check on behalf of Port Orchard Ford for a $2,850.

Congratulations to all of the organizations and a huge thank you to our communities that help us make this possible.  For everyone who purchases a car with us, thank you for the opportunity to earn your business and thank you for helping your local community.

  1. We had many others with pounds lost and inches whittled, and they were not complaining about their new lifestyle. Everyone said that they “had more energy and just felt so much better”. So those of you just waiting to get started on something, tomorrow is the day! Get out and get moving.
